FAFSA Verification Checklist
- Step 1: Gather Ï㽶ֱ²¥Documents
Collect all the materials requested by the Financial Aid office. - Step 2: Submit Early
Turn everything in as soon as possible. The earlier you submit, the sooner your financial aid package can be finalized. - Step 3: Allow Processing Time
Once all documents are received, the Financial Aid office will complete verification within 15 business days and update your aid package. - Step 4: Understand the Deadline
There is no official deadline, but verification must be finished before the end of the award year to keep your eligibility for aid. - Step 5: Know the Benefits of Completing Verification Promptly
Verification may alter your Student Aid Index (SAI), changing your financial aid package. Completing verification promptly ensures timely, accurate information for financial planning and loan evaluation.
What is FAFSA verification?
Verification confirms the accuracy of your FAFSA. We compare your FAFSA data with documents like tax returns. If we find differences, we’ll correct your FAFSA and recalculate your aid.
Reminder: You won’t receive additional federal or need-based aid until verification is complete. Federal grants already disbursed will be removed until verification is complete.
