Are you passionate about words, ideas, and culture? At Cedarville, majors and minors in English, literature, and modern languages help you grow as a communicator, thinker, and servant-leader. With a distinctly biblical perspective, you’ll gain the skills to pursue missional impact — whether in your career, your community, or wherever God leads.

Majors

  • English – BA

    Residential

Love words and ideas? In Cedarville’s English major, you’ll sharpen your writing, explore literature with biblical discernment, and develop the skills to communicate truth with clarity. Whether you’re headed toward publishing, law, ministry, or grad school, you’ll be prepared to think deeply, write persuasively, and influence culture for Christ

  • Language Arts Education – BA

    Residential

Do you want to inspire middle and high school students to love reading and writing? Cedarville’s language arts education program prepares you for licensure to teach grades 7–12. You’ll combine rich studies in literature, grammar, and composition with professional training and classroom experience — equipping you to teach with excellence in public or Christian schools.

  • Linguistics – BA

    Residential

Language shapes the way people think, connect, and live. Cedarville’s linguistics program helps you discover how languages work, how they’re learned, and how they influence culture. With concentrations like TESOL, global engagement, or biblical languages, you’ll be equipped for careers in teaching, missions, translation, or cross-cultural service — wherever God leads.

  • Spanish – BA

    Residential

Fluency in Spanish opens doors to relationships, ministry, and careers across cultures. Cedarville’s Spanish major helps you master reading, writing, speaking, and cultural understanding — while encouraging real-world experience through study abroad or missions. Graduates are prepared to serve in healthcare, business, education, ministry, and beyond.

  • Spanish Education – BA

    Residential

If you feel called to teach, Cedarville’s Spanish education major equips you to share language and culture with K–12 students. You’ll gain advanced Spanish proficiency, study Hispanic literature and culture, and complete extensive teacher training. With both state and Christian school licensure, you’ll be ready to shape young lives while serving Christ in the classroom.
