2025 Fall Semester Activities List

Singles Disc Golf League

  • Registration Dates: August 13–23
  • Play Begins: September 2
  • Format: We will play four weeks of prelim rounds plus two weeks of final rounds. We will take the top two scores during the prelim rounds and combine it with the two final rounds to determine the A and B League champions.
  • Leagues Night: Wednesday nights starting off at either 4:15 or 5:15 p.m.

Eligibility guidelines related to Varsity, JV and Club Sport involvement from our Intramural Sports Handbook:

  1. A student who is a member of any intercollegiate varsity athletic team, or who is red-shirting for a varsity team, or who at one time during the school year was a member of a varsity team and has been declared academically ineligible, or is working out (practicing) with a varsity team and continues to do so past that team’s first regular season game (including transfer students), is not eligible to participate in the same, or similar intramural sport during the academic year in which they are so listed.
  2. A student who is a member of any junior varsity (JV) intercollegiate athletic team, or who at one time during the school year was a member of a JV team and has been declared academically ineligible, or is working out (practicing) with a JV team and continues to do so past that team’s first regular season game (including transfer students), is not eligible to participate in the same, or similar intramural sport during the semester in which they are so listed. Once a player finishes his JV season in the fall (i.e. basketball, volleyball, soccer) and does not move up to the varsity squad, he/she may participate in the same or similar intramural sport the following semester (spring).
  3. Former intercollegiate varsity athletes may participate in the year following their intercollegiate involvement. Former intercollegiate JV athletes may participate in the semester following their intercollegiate JV involvement.
  4. Any one intramural team is limited to the following number of former varsity players*, JV players and club team members (current and past):
    • Basketball, Volleyball, and Wallyball – 2
    • Soccer and Ultimate Frisbee – 4
    • Indoor Soccer – 2
    *Players who were considered “starters” and started at least half of the games on a varsity team will count as two ex-players.
  5. These guidelines for varsity players will be in effect for eight (8) years after their athletic involvement. These guidelines for JV and Club players will be in effect for four years after their athletic involvement.
  6. Individuals who have competed professionally in a particular sport will be ineligible for eight (8) years from the date of their last professional participation in that sport.

Wiffle Ball

  • Registration Dates: August 20–28
  • Playing Date: August 30
  • Format: This will be a one-day event held on Saturday, August 30. The format will depend on the number of registrants. The plan is to play a double-elimination tournament with each gender. Participants should be free to play between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Registration Dates: August 20–30
  • Play Begins: September 8
  • Format: The plan is for all teams to play 3 or 4 round robin matches first (pool play) with the top teams entering a single elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team for each gender.
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 2, Maximum – 2, During Play – 2
  • Divisions: Teams of 2 men OR 2 women
  • Scheduling: When signing up a team, please indicate your team's top three playing days and times as well as your team's conflicts. The earlier you sign up, the better your chances will be to play at your most preferred day/time.

  • Registration Dates: August 20–30

  • Format: The plan is for all teams to play 3 or 4 round robin matches first (pool play) with the top teams entering a single elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team for each gender.
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 10, Maximum – 16, During Play – 7
  • Officials: We hope to have enough game officials to provide 3 officials for every game. To do that, every team will be responsible for sending at least two players to the official's clinic and willing to work at least one or two games per week (at times their team is not playing). The Flag Football Official's Clinic will be held Tuesday, September 2 at 7 p.m. in CAL 203 (conference room by elevator in Callan).

Soccer will only take place this fall if the new intramural fields are ready for play by September 8.

  • Format: The plan is for all teams to play 3 or 4 round robin matches first (pool play) with the top teams entering a single elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team for each gender.
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 15, Maximum – 22, During Play – 11
  • Limitations: Each team is limited to no more than four players who in the past have played college level varsity or JV soccer. See more details either below or on the Intramural Handbook page.
  • Officials: 2 game officials will be provided for each game. Anyone interested in working as a soccer game official should plan to attend the official's clinic planned for Thursday, September 4 at 7 p.m. in CAL 203.

  • Limitations: Each team is limited to no more than four club ultimate team members (either current year or past years). See the Intramural Handbook for more details.
  • Officials: Officials will not be used for Ultimate Frisbee. Players will be expected to call their own games.
  • Playing Days and Times: When signing up a team, find out from your teammates which days and times would work out best and indicate your team's three preferred days/time to play along with your team's major conflicts (when your team will be unable to play).

Young’s Bike Ride - Fall

  • Registration Dates: September 3–11
  • Event Date: September 13
  • Event Start Time: 1 p.m.
  • Event Description:
    • Approximately an 18–20 mile bike trip starting at the Fitness Center
    • Route over to Young's...
      • Cedarville–Yellow Springs Rd – L on Conley Rd
      • R on Tarbox Cemetery Rd – Wilberforce–Clifton Rd
      • To Grinnell Rd to the bike path in Yellow Springs
      • The bike path up to W. Jackson Rd. over to St. Rt. 68
      • Down to Young's
    • Return route..
      • Bike path to Grinnell to Wilberforce–Clifton to Cedarville–Yellow Springs and to campus
    • Young's ice cream will be available to all those who pre-register by midnight on Thursday, September 11 and complete the ride on Saturday.

    • Teams must have at least 4 players on the court to start, or continue a match, but not more than 6. Teams may never have more men on the court than women.
    • Legal number of players would include: 3 men and 3 women, 2 men and 3 women, 2 men and 2 women, or 1 man and 3 women.

3v3 Basketball

  • Registration Dates: September 10–18
  • Play Begins: September 29
  • Format: All men’s teams will play pool play (3–5 round robin games first) with the top teams entering a combined single elimination tournament to determine the overall championship team. The women will either play pool play and then a playoff (if there are more than 7 teams) or a simple round robin format within one league (with the team with the best record being declared the championship team).
  • Number of Players per Team: Minimum – 4, Maximum – 6, During Play – 3
  • Limitations: Each team is limited to no more than two players who in the past have played college level varsity or JV. See more details either below or on the Intramural Handbook page.
  • Officials: There will be one scorekeeper and one game official provided for each game. Anyone interested in becoming a basketball scorekeeper or official should attend the appropriate meeting/clinics. The Scorekeeper Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 7 p.m. in CAL 203. The Official's Clinic will be held the same evening, in the same location, at 8 p.m.
  • Divisions:
    • Women's (open - no difference in skill between leagues)
    • Men's A (higher skill) and B (average skill)

Hiking Trip to Hocking Hills

Travel with us by van Saturday, September 27 to the beautiful Hocking Hills State Park in southeast Ohio (a two-hour ride). We will be hiking up to 6–7 miles during the day, seeing Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, and possibly Conkle's Hollow. The cost of this trip is only $10 and includes transportation and lunch. Students will need to bring along some money to pay for dinner on the way home. Registration will be open to the first 20 students to sign up in-person at the Fitness Center front desk starting Wednesday, September 17 and closing Thursday, September 25.
