On Sept. 25, the chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national honor society for communication, inducted 26 communication students for outstanding academic performance.
Before receiving this honor, the inductees completed at least 60 credit hours with a 3.5 major GPA. The ceremony was held to celebrate their hard work and encourage them to persevere.鈥, senior professor of , led the ceremony.
鈥淭he society promotes academic excellence in communication studies, fosters interest in the communication field, facilitates discussions and exchanges of ideas and builds strong relationships between faculty and students,鈥 said Elliott.
Marian Pope, junior student, was one of the students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta. To her, the ceremony was more than a formality.
鈥淢y grades were no longer just letters on a transcript,鈥 said Pope. 鈥淭hey were physical, tangible things 鈥撯 my pin and my certificate, the smiles and camaraderie of my fellow Nu Nu members, the feeling of handshakes and high fives, and, in two years, my Lambda Pi Eta tassels at graduation.鈥
Sixteen communication students were inducted: Paul Bisceglia, a senior from Racine, WI; Lainie Bourquin, a junior from Lincoln, RI; Jordan Foley, a junior from Toledo, OH; Nathanael Kolssak, a senior from Winnetka, IL; Caroline Lowery, a senior from S Charleston, WV; Rachel McKinion, a senior from Cedarville, OH; Lucy Pound, a junior from Virginia Beach, VA; Windsor Rapp, a senior from Covington, OH; Claire Robey, a sophomore from Lebanon, OH; Harald Ronning, a senior from Katy, TX; Alivia Rubright, a senior from Dixon, IL; Bethany Scott, a senior from Tipp City, OH; Izak Smith, a senior from Lewis Center, OH; John Stephens, a senior from Salem, VA, and Rachel White, a junior from Cedarville, OH.
Eight professional writing and information design students were inducted: Avery Carver, a junior from Christiansburg, VA; Kaleah Peter, a junior from Severance, CO; Marian Pope, a junior from Xenia, OH; Cadence Powers, a junior from Pickerington, OH; Cara Ramer, a junior double major from Alliance, OH; Carly Shaner, a junior from Greensburg, PA; Ella Smith, a senior from Rapid City, SD, and Cameron Zimmerman, a junior from Halifax, PA.
Three students were inducted: Noah Greig, a senior from Snohomish, WA; Isaac Nadig, a junior from Loveland, CO, and Noelle Stodden, a junior from Trilla, IL.
