One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

by Mark D. Weinstein, Executive Director of Public Relations

The results of the most comprehensive fundraising campaign in Cedarville University’s 138-year history, One Thousand Days Transformed: The Campaign for Cedarville, was featured during the university’s fall meeting of the Board of Trustees and homecoming activities held October 3-4.

Chapel celebration of 1000 Days Transformed completion.Dr. Thomas White, Cedarville’s president, shared the campaign results in his annual State of the University address during the homecoming chapel. He announced, with confetti flying through the chapel air, that Cedarville had secured $205.8 million in gifts from 26,000 donors — ranging from four quarters given by an eight-year-old daughter of alumni parents to multi-million-dollar gifts. The total amount raised eclipsed both the original $125 million and later revised $175 million goal.

The campaign funds will benefit students in four key areas: expanding capacity for more students with new facilities, maximizing affordability, transforming lives inside and outside of the classroom, and providing for the future.

New Innovation and Entrepreneurship Degree

Trustees approved a 126-hour Bachelor of Science degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Cedarville already offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in innovation and entrepreneurship and a Master of Arts in Innovation (MAI) and is home to the Berry Chair for Entrepreneurship and the Berry Center for Free Enterprise.

This new undergraduate degree program, pending external approvals, will be offered in partnership with the International Center for Creativity (ICC) in Columbus, Ohio. The program will equip students with the skills to develop and implement creative business solutions in a rapidly changing marketplace. Students will spend one semester in Columbus as part of their program.

The ICC also hosts Cedarville’s Industrial and Innovative Design undergraduate program, which is the leading program of its kind nationally among Christian higher education.
