For more than 30 years Cedarville University鈥檚 HeartSong worship teams have recorded an album each spring. This year, the teams will record a live album, the third one the ministry has produced and the first major recording in the Jeremiah Chapel since its recent renovation.
The recording will take place March 25 at 8:30 p.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center, and will be free and open to the public. The teams welcome visitors from local churches and various camps that the ministry partners with throughout the year.
This year鈥檚 album is called 鈥淧raise the King鈥 and will include unique arrangements of popular songs like 鈥 香蕉直播Love Awakens Me鈥 by Phil Wickham, 鈥淩esurrecting鈥 by Elevation Worship and the title track 鈥淧raise the King鈥 by Corey Voss.
鈥淭he whole album is centered on bringing praises to the Almighty King, glorifying his name over our own selves,鈥 said Ashlynn Kelly, ministry and event coordinator for HeartSong ministries. 鈥淚t鈥檚 what we were created to do, and I think these songs give us the opportunity to do that.鈥
One of the highlights of recording an album is the role that students are able to play in the process, explained Kelly. They work alongside full-time staff members in each step, from song selection to developing arrangements to rehearsing and recording the album. The benefit of a live album is that it also allows other students and visitors to become part of that process.
Physical copies and downloads of 鈥淧raise the King鈥 will be released for purchase April 20.
