Helping citizens navigate through the stormy presidential election is the goal of the 90-minute 鈥淓lection 2016: History in the Making鈥 forum, held Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in Cedarville University's Dixon Ministry Center. The free event, sponsored by Cedarville鈥檚 , is open to the public.
Expert panelists will address the question, 鈥淗ow did we get here?鈥 in terms of the candidates, campaign rhetoric and the role media has played throughout the campaign.
The panelists are Dr. Christopher Devine, assistant professor of political science at the University of Dayton, Laura Bischoff, award-winning Dayton Daily News political writer, and Dr. Mark Caleb Smith, director of the Center for Political Studies at Cedarville University. WHIO-TV news anchor James Brown will moderate.
鈥淭his has been a political campaign like no other campaign our country has ever seen. People are confused, frustrated, and some don鈥檛 know if they should even vote,鈥 said Smith. 鈥淲e鈥檒l do our best to address these issues at the forum.鈥
The panelists will cover various topics related to both campaigns and the election cycle for the first 45 minutes of the program before accepting questions from the audience. The forum will be broadcast live on (1290 AM and 95.7 FM).
