He then calls us to be holy as Christ is holy. Throughout the book, we see themes of suffering, being subject to authority, and ultimately living godly lives. The entire book of 1 Peter is about our pursuit of holiness. Christ died in order that we might be born again to a living hope, so now, with our inheritance secure in heaven, we are called to pursue holy lives.
