Two Cedarville University professors have been recognized by the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) for their service in higher education.
Dr. Justin Cole, associate professor of pharmacy practice, is the recipient of the faculty excellence award, while Professor Eric Mishne, assistant professor of communication, received the campus impact award. SOCHE recognizes faculty and staff who demonstrate outstanding contributions to academic excellence and student success. The council, an alliance of academic organizations, is dedicated to promoting innovation, opportunity and success in higher education.
āIt is humbling to be recognized among an institution full of accomplished and talented Christian educators. This award motivates me to continue striving for excellence,ā Dr. Cole said.
Mishne, was nominated for his efforts in creating a Christ-centered environment for his students, both in the classroom and through his work with the forensics team. Mishne led Cedarvilleās speech and debate team to a national title during the 2024-25 academic year while encouraging the students to compete with excellence for the glory of God.
These SOCHE awards recognize a fundamental truth of higher education: that the success of academic institutions depends largely on professors like Cole and Mishne, who foster academic growth and support students.
