Music Program Nationally Ranked
Music program receives national ranking
Ranked institutions were evaluated based on the following criteria: number of undergraduate and graduate music degrees offered, faculty-to-student ratio, percent of full-time beginning undergraduates receiving grants or scholarships, selectivity, overall retention rate and overall graduation rate.
Roger OāNeel, assistant chair and associate professor of worship at Cedarville, said he was excited to see the music program getting recognition.
OāNeel believes the music programās facilities, mentoring faculty and intentional community make Cedarvilleās program worthy of the ranking.
āThis is a true honor to be listed among the best Christian music programs in the country,ā said Beth Cram Porter, chair of the department of music and worship at Cedarville University. āThe department faculty take seriously our calling to teach, mentor and prepare our students to impact the Kingdom.ā
Cedarvilleās department of music and worship offers six majors: composition, keyboard pedagogy, music, music education, music performance and worship. The worship program was ranked among the best for worship ministry earlier this year.
