Emma Hoelzen, PhD
Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical SciencesBiography
Dr. Emma Hoelzen joined the faculty at Cedarville University in 2025. Prior to arriving at Cedarville, she taught a course on psychoactive drugs at The Ohio State University. Her doctoral research focused on nuclear sex hormone receptor biology in liver cancer and drug repurposing and development. In the classroom, Dr. Hoelzen teaches pharmaceutics and pharmacology topics. She enjoys continuing to innovate in her teaching practices through adopting active learning strategies to further student engagement.
