One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

The Lyceum at Cedarville unites the Departments of Art, Design, and Theatre; English, Literature, and Modern Languages; History and Government; and Music and Worship in a vibrant, Christ-centered community. Through shared ideas, deep conversation, and cultural engagement, we pursue excellence and shape the culture of the School of Arts and Humanities — elevating scholarship, fostering lasting relationships, and encouraging one another toward a life of faithful influence.

Student Fellows from each department are chosen for their commitment to academic excellence, love of the arts and humanities, and desire to grow alongside peers and faculty from across the school. Through this shared journey, we help set the tone for a thriving culture of scholarship and faithful influence, enriching both the school’s community and its academic life.

Rooted in Cedarville University's commitment to truth and scholarship, The Lyceum cultivates a robust academic culture where creativity, reflection, and biblical thinking flourish by inviting contemporary thinkers and artists to campus and engaging them in small, prepared groups.

Lyceum Fellows will:

  • Join reading groups exploring visiting speakers' works alongside timeless classics.
  • Engage thought leaders in small, prepared discussions and shared meals.
  • Experience the arts through exhibits, performances, and curated trips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are Lyceum Fellows?

Lyceum Fellows are a small, select number of students from across the School of Arts and Humanities. The Fellows will be involved in reading groups, interacting with visiting speakers, and attending various social activities related to the Lyceum — dinners, exhibits, performances, etc.

What are reading groups?

Reading groups are communities of friendship and discussion. Each visiting speaker will introduce a reading group that includes the speaker’s work (when appropriate) alongside classical or foundational texts. These groups will contain both Lyceum Fellows and faculty members. Reading groups will meet once per week during the school year.

Is there any cost?

There is no cost for Lyceum Fellows to participate. All reading group materials and dinners with visiting speakers are provided. The main requirement for involvement is a commitment to attending all Lyceum reading groups, dinners, and activities.
